Optimat®

Non-Woven Technical Veils

Optimat® non-woven veils are made using a unique wet-forming process resulting in the most even fibre distribution available, giving the component a very high quality surface finish and reducing the incidence of surface microcracking and micro porosity. Optimat® veils are produced from a large variety of fibres, with an areal weight range of 6 to 200 g/m² (depending on the fibre type), and are a cost effective means of realising the advantages of high performance speciality fibres in a variety of composite structures. The fibres are bound with small amounts of organic binders, which are selected for compatibility with the final matrix system and may be soluble or insoluble in the resin to aid processing.
