Narrow Width Woven Tapes
Our range of narrow woven tapes for composite reinforcement compliment our range of broad loom products and are available in widths from 25mm – 300mm wide, from carbon, aramid (Kevlar®), glass and polyester fibres. They are typically used as local reinforcement, either in UD or balanced (RD) constructions, and are also highly suitable for the manufacture of high aspect ratio products such as skis. Uni-directional reinforcements can also be woven in tubular form with elasticated weft fibres, providing an interesting solution to the problem of reinforcing spars, cranked tubes and ducting. Our flat woven tapes are also available with powder coating for RTM applications.

Flat and Tubular Braids
A further range of composite reinforcements are available as flat and tubular braids. These materials have unique properties and are suitable for complete part manufacture or local reinforcement.
Flat braids are available up to 400mm wide and tubular braids up to 250mm diameter, with virtually any type of fibre.

Processing Capability Powder Coating
The PRF range of reinforcement fabrics can be supplied coated with a variety of powdered systems including epoxy and polyester.
The powder coating stabilises the weave, preventing distortion and enables the fabric to be cut without fraying. The thermoplastic powder coating can be used to bond layers together as in manufacturing of performs for RTM processing.
Laminating
Using the powder coating system, fabrics can also be laminated together. We have the capability to laminate two or more fabrics, of the same or different types, for example a carbon fabric with a non-woven veil or fleece to improve the component surface finish.
Slitting
PRF is able to offer most of our range of fabrics slit into narrow widths.
